Salford is Sound

Manchester may get all the publicity, but the casual swagger, dark wit, improbable harmonies, and off-kilter rhythms that characterise the city’s music scene, past and present, belong to Salford. From the Hollies to the Happy Mondays, it all happened here, and it's all happening here.

And with the development of the Salford Music Map, and the “Quiffs, Riffs and Tiffs” exhibition running at Salford Museum and Art Gallery from October, it seems the city is claiming its fair share of the glory at last. It’s about time.
