There is nothing angrier than a frustrated 60s Idealist. As war raged in Iraq, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young embarked on their ‘Freedom of Speech’ tour: an incendiary series of concerts, in which the spirit of 60s Protest Music returned with a vengeance. Audiences expecting a nostalgic wallow in the mellow sounds of 70s California, were in for a shock. The reactions, pro and con, the near-riots at certain venues, were all captured on film by Young himself. The result is an hilarious study of dreams gone sour and the extent to which fans misunderstand their heroes, as well as a timely reminder of what made them heroes in the first place. This film had a very limited UK Cinema release, and we are proud to present it on the big screen, for the very first time in the region, right here in Salford, where Graham Nash grew up.
