Manchester-based indie film organisation Filmonik is hosting a unique screening event at Salford Film Festival on Monday 26th November.
It's the Filmonik Set-Text event. The idea is that between now and the 26th November filmmakers will create films based on a short script/idea that we provide. The resulting films will be screened at the Salford Arts Theatre on 26th, at which we'll be able to see how different filmmakers have interpreted the same text. It's perfect for filmmakers who are currently short of a script of their own, or who simply fancy a creative challenge (and the opportunity of a guaranteed audience for their film). It's still not too late. Roger Corman could shoot a film in 3 days, working on 35mm film, with big heavy cameras. Masque of The Red Death only took him 5, and that was due to the British crews constant tea breaks. Take inspiration from that, and never forget the Filmonik credo:
Do well with nothing, do better with little, and do it now!
