LAST MINUTE ADDITIONS TO THE CAUGHT SHORT PROGRAMMES

Because here at Salford we believe that More is More, we're adding an extra film to each of the Caught Short Programmes...

Death of a Socialist (Nasir Butt, 2007, 11 min)

Charlie is a young man whose entire life revolves around his Socialist politics. However, his growing anger and frustration at the war in Iraq, and his increasing disillusionment with the effectiveness of public protests and demonstrations, has left him feeling increasingly isolated. And then he meets Alice… A bittersweet study of the conflict between romance and radical politics, starring Chris Bisson (Coronation St, Shameless) and Christine Bottomley (Early Doors, The Street)

Nasir Butt's earlier film In Memoriam was shown at the very first Salford Film Festival, so it only seems right that we find a space for his latest work. The film had its world premiere at Cannes, and is having its UK premiere right here in Nasir's native Salford.

This film will be screening in:

CAUGHT SHORT ONE: NORTHERN ACCENTS Salford Arts Theatre, Monday November 26th, 5.30pm (Cert 18)

Damned Nation (Chris Green, 7 min, 30 sec)

All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. And Anthony has always been a good man, a kind and forgiving man. Until now. Starring Steve Evets (Shameless, Life On Mars) and Stella Grundy , writer and star of NICO ICON PLAY.

Chris Green has the distinction of being the only filmmaker with two films in the festival this year. This film is hot from the cutting room, and we found it difficult to resist. We think you will feel the same.

This film will be screening in:

CAUGHT SHORT TWO: SALFORD SHOTS Salford Arts Theatre, Tuesday November 27th, 5.30pm (Cert 18)
